8 teams are getting set to pull a DHL A300 Plan 10 metres for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie charity tomorrow, Friday 26th July. The event kicks off at 12noon.

The epic challenge is all in aid of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie and Radio Nova’s Marty Miller will be broadcasting live tomorrow from 10am – 1pm!

The Plane Pull is 165 metric tons! and will be pulled at Dublin Airport – Hangar Five – Gate 32 by a number of teams.

The pulling teams are Dublin Aerospace, DHL, DAA, Swissport, Dublin Fire Brigade, Boeing, Gardai. There are 25 people per team for the 10-metre Pull!

Jimmy Norman, father of Aoibheann, and the co-founder of charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, tirelessly continues to fund-raise for the children of St.John’s Ward in Crumlin Hospital.

As an Engineer in Dublin Airport, working in Dublin Aerospace, Jimmy came up with the idea of a Plane Pull.

This year, the 4th year of the event, is the biggest ever with 8 teams competing, to pull this Monster, the DHL A300 Aircraft. Dublin Aerospace will cease operations for 4 hours – will encourage 300 staff across all Airport operations to compete – and will supply Pizza to everyone!

The event kicks off at Hanger 5, hosted by Dublin Aerospace –with refreshments supplied by Dublin Airport Authority. All of the major Operations organisations have “ pulled together” to allow this Miracle Event to happen!
