Liam Gallagher, the 53-year-old frontman of the legendary band Oasis, has opened up about how the group’s major reunion tour played a turning point in his life, saying simply “Oasis saved my life”. His comments come amid the band’s ongoing Live ’25 tour, and mark a significant public moment as he discusses giving up alcohol, cigarettes and drug use to commit fully to the shows with his brother Noel Gallagher.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter) on 9 November, Gallagher thanked fans for acknowledging his new-found discipline. One fan message read: “You’ve done a great job staying healthy for the gigs, Liam… I’m sorry u have to live like a monk during the tour … but damn, you’re killing it!!” Gallagher responded: “Oasis saved my life it’s about time I sorted my nappa out I know how much this means to people so stopping drinking and smoking and snorting Gary baldies are sacrifices that needed to be made thems the rules MCFC.” He ended with a nod to his beloved hometown club, Manchester City F.C..

When asked by another follower if he missed the occasional Guinness, he admitted: “Yeah I miss talking absolute b— when I’m bladdered.”

Don’t smoke weed; bores the s--- out of me… I smoke cigarettes but not a load — last week I didn’t smoke any! I’ve got a bit of discipline.”

The Gallagher-brothers’ reunion tour, which kicked off in July 2025 and runs through 23 November, has been presented not only as a major music event but clearly also a personal milestone for Liam. His public acknowledgement that the tour helped him refocus his health and lifestyle adds a deeper layer to the headline-grabbing gigs.

For Irish fans — many of whom will have seen Oasis live in their heyday or followed the Gallagher saga closely — this evolution is meaningful. It suggests that beyond the music, the tour holds genuine personal significance for one of Britain’s most outspoken rock figures. It also positions the tour as a kind of ‘make-good’ moment: a chance for redemption, renewed purpose and a steadier path ahead.
