The 1996 hit was the most popular according to Radio and TV station data.
The insightful Britpop ballad became the second of Oasis's eight (to date) UK Number 1 singles after it’s release as a single in March of that year.
Music licensing company, Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), which licenses the use of recorded music on radio, TV and in public places, put the list together using airplay data from radio and TV stations across the UK.
The figures showed that the legendary band’s second most played track was Wonderwall.
Third place’s She’s Electric, which was a track from their classic 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was never actually released as a single. It also did not make the setlist for the reunited group's comeback tour, and neither did their 2005 chart topper The Importance Of Being Idle – which comes in at number six on the list just published.
In fourth place was Roll With It followed by Little By Little in fifth place. Whatever, Some Might Say and Live Forever followed The Importance Of Being Idle.
Champagne Supernova, the closing track to their second studio album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? completed the list at number ten. This album which was released in 1995, contributed six tracks to the top 10 list and became the fifth bestselling album in the UK, according to the Official Charts Company.
The PPL survey also found that on average Oasis songs have been played 120 times per day across the country since 2000, and have amassed over seven years of cumulative airplay on UK radio and TV stations since the turn of the century.
PPL chief exec Peter Leathem said: “Oasis are one of the most iconic era-defining bands we have ever seen.
"They dominated the 1990s and 2000s.They personified those decades. Their timeless songs continue to resonate with audiences even long after their release.”
He added: "With their reunion tour underway, this chart provides the perfect opportunity to look back in admiration at the enduring impact of their music throughout this century, and to celebrate one of the greatest British bands of all time."
It was all the way back in 1994 that Oasis first swaggered onto the UK music scene, taking it by storm in the process. The band, which was led by Noel Gallagher and featured his little brother Liam on vocals, went on to become one of the biggest musical acts the country has ever seen.
However the brothers had a volatile relationship which eventually caused the band to break up after a huge bust up in Paris in 2009 where they had a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine Festival.
Having finally made up, they kicked off their much anticipated reunion tour last Friday at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, almost 16 years after their dramatic split.
And their compilation album Time Flies... 1994-2009 is now looking to claim the Number 1 spot for the first time since its release 15 years ago, showing how hugely popular they still are even to this day.
