Oasis have launched a new range of merchandise to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic Knebworth gigs in 1996.
This range will include replicas of the jacket which was worn by frontman Liam Gallagher and the jumper worn by his brother and guitarist Noel during these shows.
This collection celebrates two massive shows played by Oasis at Knebworth in 1996, which broke all kinds of records, having sold out in under 24 hours, and saw them perform on stage in front of 250,000 fans across both nights.
Reports had suggested that 2.6 million people had tried for tickets for these shows, which was roughly 5% of the whole UK population. Such was the huge level of demand, it could have sold out 20 nights at the venue.
Now, it was announced that a new range of merchandise, will include a cotton t shirt which reads, 'Knebworth' along with the Oasis' logo. It will also include a Navy crossbody bag, which is available on October 7, and the cotton t shirt available from August 28.
A replica of the striped jumper with navy and red stripes worn by Noel Gallagher during the first of these two shows, is also included in the collection, available from September 25, and is nearly identical to the white jumper worn by Noel on stage.
Elsewhere, a white safari jacket worn by Liam Gallagher will also be included, which has been described as being made from 100% cotton, and having a “traditional four-pocket utility layout with secure button-flap closures, ivory-coloured buttons and matching belt buckle”, with a Oasis To Sell Replicas Of Iconic Liam Gallagher Jacket As Part Of New Merchandise Range. News of this comes after it had been confirmed that the film, Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger, which looks at the band's much anticipated reunion tour would be premiered at the Venice International Film Festival next month.
After being premiered at the international film festival, the movie will also be available to watch in selected IMAX cinemas and theatres from September 11. More on this from Nova here.
