Princess Of Wales Issues Apology Over Manipulated Photograph

The Princess of Wales has apologised after a photograph shared by her on Mother’s Day, appeared to be manipulated.

The photo has been removed by all major international photography sites, after editing issues were noticed.

Such platforms include PA, Reuters, Getty, and AP, with the last three removing the image on Sunday.

This snap was shared by Kate Middleton, her first photograph shared by her since she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

Princess Of Wales Apologises

Issuing her apology via X, the Princess wrote, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing”. 

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused”, she added. “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C”. 

PA, the UK’s national news agency sough clarification from Kensington Palace over the authenticity of the photo.

The agency also released this statement, “Like other news agencies, PA Media issued the handout image provided by Kensington Palace of the Princess of Wales and her children in good faith yesterday”.

“We became aware of concerns about the image and we carried a report about it last night, and made clear that we were seeking urgent clarification about the image from Kensington Palace”, they added. “In the absence of that clarification, we are killing the image from our picture service”. 

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the matter.

The Princess of Wales is not expected to return to Royal duties until after Easter.
