Ridley Scott reacts to Quentin Tarantino saying he directed the best film of the 21st century.
The Oscar-winning director stated that he thought Scott's film, Black Hawk Down was the "best of this century so far", on a podcast last year.
In a recent interview with The Times, Scott was asked what he thought of Tarantino's assessment.
“I wonder what he was on, because whatever it is, I want some,” Scott said and disagreed with the statement Tarantino made.
Black Hawk Down is a film based on real life events, where efforts were made to rescue the survivors of two Black Hawk helicopters that were shot down during the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia in 1993, according to NME.
The film features an impressive cast which includes Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, and Tom Hardy.
Scott has received many awards including two Golden Globe Awards, eight BAFTA Awards, and a Grammy Award.
His films span a wide range of settings and periods, but many are distinguished by their striking visual depictions of cities and landscapes.
Scott has directed several cinematic masterpieces throughout his career, including Gladiator (2000) and its 2024 sequel, Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Robin Hood (2010), Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014), Black Hawk Down (2001), Blade Runner (1982), Alien, Prometheus (2012), The Martian (2015) and Alien: Covenant (2017).
His most recent film 'The Dog Stars' is released today (August 26) and stars Wuthering Heights actor Jacob Elordi.
Whilst promoting the film in London, Elordi playfully dodged all questions about auditioning for the new James Bond film.
