It has come to light that Ireland and Leinster have been hit with a major blow as Garry Ringrose is set for a spell on the sidelines.
The centre has been ruled out for a period of six weeks with an ankle injury as Leinster confirmed the news to RTÉ Sport this afternoon.
The 22-year-old is set to miss out on two games in the Champions Cup as well as the opening two rounds of Ireland’s Six Nations campaign.
Ringrose picked up the injury following his side’s dismantling of Ulster in the RDS on Saturday which will be a hard one to swallow following his spell on the sidelines in 2017.

The centre had shoulder surgery in July of last year which saw him rejoin the Leinster squad in December for their game against Treviso, and with a new injury springing in January, he’ll be frustrated to find himself on the sidelines once again.
