Wilson Felt “disrespected” By Baron Cohen
News of this comes as Sacha Baron Cohen faces strong criticism following accusations made against him by former Grimsby co-star Rebel Wilson.
In her book Rebel Rising, Wilson accused Baron Cohen of several incidents of inappropriate behaviour from their time working on the 2016 comedy, Grimsby.
Wilson who dedicated an entire chapter to Baron Cohen in her upcoming memoir, said she wanted to recall an experience which made her feel “completed disrespected, which led to me treating myself with even more disrespect by eating in an extremely unhealthy way”.
While filming for the movie, Wilson alleged that any time she talked to Baron Cohen, “he’d mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene”.
“gross directions”
She also added that Sacha Baron Cohen would also give “gross directions” in scenes which were either offensive to women or to her size.
Wilson even noted a scene where she was “lured” out of her trailer to an unfurnished concrete floor, with a mattress on it, with the only people in the room being Cohen “and his mates”.
While other people allegedly recorded on their phones, Wilson claimed that Cohen told her that “OK, now I want you to stick your finger up my a**”, for a scene in this film.
The actress said that she felt “scared” as there was no director or camera crew present.
“It’s my opinion that Sacha Baron Cohen gets off on making people feel uncomfortable”, she wrote.
She went on to claim that an associate of Baron Cohen’s later threatened to ruin her reputation with Hollywood studios.
Ali G and Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen has denied these allegations, describing them as “demonstrably false”.
