So we’re already there. No doubt. No questions asked.

The Pogue’s frontman, Shane MacGowan turns 60 on Christmas Day, and to celebrate he has decided to throw the ultimate birthday bash and we’re screaming.

A gig is set to take place in the National Concert Hall on January 15th which will pay tribute to the star while celebrating the life and times of the 60-year-old.

While Shane will be the main headline act on the night of course – you will never in a million years believe who will be taking to the stage to celebrate with him!

Nick Cave, Johnny Depp, Glen Hansard, Finbar Furey, Clem Burke of Blondie, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Camille O’Sullivan, Lisa O’Neill, Cerys Matthews, Carl Barat of the Libertines, Glen Matlock of The Sex Pistols and his Pogues bandmates.

No – this is NOT fake news!

It is all part and parcel of The National Concert Hall’s ‘Perspective Series‘, and they have revealed RTÉ presenter, John Kelly, will be presenting on the night and tickets to the gig are on sale Friday, December 8th.

The series is deemed to celebrate the ‘power and poetry’ of Shane’s work, and will be produced and curated by Shane and Victoria Mary Clarke, with Gerry O’Boyle and the NCH.

Tickets can be retrieved from 10am, and range in price from €65 – €85, visit NCH for more information on the event.
