The Darkness are back with a new single, an announcement of a new album ‘Pinewood Smile’, and details of a huge UK tour.
The Darkness have illuminated from the shadows.. excuse the pun.. with their new single ‘All The Pretty Girls’ and the news of their fifth studio album release. The Darkness front man, Justin Hawkins has said in the band official press release, “the rock egg is soon to hatch! In September of this annus rockabilis, and with the help of those excellent people at Cooking Vinyl, we will issue a fifth LP record album for your delectation.”
Hawkins seems to be pretty confident and excited about the album which is to follow their 2015 LP, Last of Our Kind which reached No. 1 on the U.K. Rock chart, and No. 2 on the U.S. Hard Rock chart.
The glam-rock revivalists latest album ‘Pinewood Smile’ will be available from 6th October 2017, and have launched it with a comeback single ‘All The Pretty Girls’ released on Friday 21st July, which you can check out below:
The band is well known for their humour and fun approach to rock and after their interview with NME they have confirmed that the new album will reflect their familiar sound saying “There’s almost too much of a risk to not take yourself serious these days. It is harder for bands these days.” They also labelled Brexit as ‘the rise of the arseclowns’, and said that in these dark times, the world needs them now more than ever.
