Tim Allen Claims That He & Tom Hanks Have Been Approached For ‘Toy Story 5’

Tim Allen has revealed that that Disney has reached out to him, and co star Tom Hanks about reprising their roles for Toy Story 5.

Tim Allen and Tom Hanks starred as Buzz Lightyear and Woody in the beloved franchise.

Allen made these comments in a recent chat with talkshow host, Jimmy Fallon.

Having released its debut film in 1995, Toy Story 4 arrived in 2019, with all four films starring Hanks and Allen.

Allen Told That A Toy Story 5 Was “going to happen”

Speaking to Fallon, Tim Allen has now revealed that a fifth Toy Story is on the horizon.

“Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on and actually said it was going to happen”, stated Allen. “They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles. They’re not saying anything about it… You wonder if four was too many. Is five going to be too much?”. 

Allen continued,  “According to the scuttlebutt, the writer that’s doing it wrote one of the better ones and said, ‘If I didn’t get this right, I wouldn’t do it.’ It could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it”. 

This comes a matter of months after Disney Pixar’s Chief Executive, Pete Docter, had announced that Woody and Buzz Lightyear would be returning for a fifth edition of the Toy Story franchise.

A release date has for Toy Story 5 has yet to be announced at the time of writing.
