Young Child On Bike Hit By Lorry In Dublin

A young child was rushed to the hospital this morning. The young passenger was hit by a truck and thrown from their bike by a lorry in the city centre.

The accident occurred just after 9:30am on Ship Street. That’s at the junction with Stephen Street. The child was hospitalised with minor injuries after the accident.

A garda spokesperson confirmed that “at approximately 9.30 this morning, 11th January 2019, a truck collided with a bicycle on Ship St. A child, who was a passenger on the bicycle, received minor injuries and was taken to hospital.” The road has since been cleared.
