The Rolling stones made a historic return to Hyde park last night – it’s the first time they’ve played there in over four decades.
The gig had an emotional backdrop for the band – at their last concert there in 1969, it was just a few days after band member Brian Jones died.
Many said at the time they shouldn’t have played so soon after Jones passed away.
They were on form last night in a set that started – predictably perhaps with Start Me Up –
and Mick Jagger had a special welcome for those in the 65,000 strong crowd who managed to make it back again after attending that first Hyde park gig in the summer of 69.
