Liam Gallagher has blasted the attitude of Edinburgh's council, following alleged comments they made about Oasis fans.
The singer said that the council's attitude "f****** stinks" in light of recent reports from the Scottish Sun, saying that safety briefing documents referred to Oasis fans as "rowdy", "middle aged men", who are likely to drink to "medium to high intoxication".
The reports stated that authorities had raised concerns that these shows would be a risk to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which runs from August 1 to 25, expecting to bring in three million fans.
“Middle-aged men take up more room. Consider this when working out capacity", the report said.
This comes as Oasis are to play three shows at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium on August 8, 9 and 12 as part of their huge reunion tour. According to reports, 210,000 fans have already bought tickets for these shows.
As you could imagine, these reports did not sit well with Liam Gallagher, who issued this response via social media.
“To the Edinburgh council I’ve heard what you said about OASIS fans and quite frankly your attitude f****** stinks", Gallagher wrote. “I’d leave town that day if I was any of you lot".
In another post, Liam Gallagher added: “I’d love to see a picture of all the people on the Edinburgh council, bet there’s some real STUNING [sic] individuals". Check out this post for yourselves here.
Liam's posts come after U2 singer Bono said that his brother Noel Gallagher is "shocked" by how good Oasis are sounding, ahead of their much anticipated reunion shows. More on this from Nova here.
