Elton John has revealed he is recording a new album in a completely different way than before as he adjusts to issues regarding his eyesight.

The music icon is facing several creative challenges with this album, which is produced by Andrew Watt, and sees him record seven tracks, written by his trusted collaborator, Bernie Taupin. This marks a new chapter in the music career of the 'Tiny Dancer' singer.

Recently, Elton has admitted that his recent eyesight problems have forced him to work on new music in a totally different way. His determination to continue to create new music, despite admitting that he is full blind in his right year, is a testament to the man and his creative genius.

Speaking about working with Taupin again, Elton John failed to contain his excitement about the new material for this upcoming album. Seven new tracks have been scribed by Taupin, which Elton has described as "really good".

Reports have suggested that Elton Joh had planned to begin recording sessions for this album last month, with Andrew Watt producing.

While he has called their working relationship as volatile but productive, Watt and Elton have always shared a mutual respect for their creative abilities. Despite his ongoing vision issues and occasional tension with Watt, Elton John has managed to conjure up a new, innovative way of working, while maintaining creative control.

“My job is to read the room and understand Elton’s creative vision in real time. He’s like Mozart or Beethoven when he’s working", Watt said.

Expectations surrounding this album remain high, between these new tracks from Taupin, and Watt's modern work on production. Elton John has continued to evolve throughout his career, with this new project promising to be exception, with the singer keen for something "more commercial" and "more of today than yesterday".

Last November, Elton John described his eyesight issues as "devastating".

This comes as the singer revealed he "lost my right eye and my left eye’s not so good" but he is hopeful that "some day science will help me with this one".

"It’s been devastating", Elton John told Variety, the US magazine. "The last 15 months have been challenging for me because I haven’t been able to see anything, watch anything, read anything".

He added: "I’ve had the most incredible life, and there is hope. I’ve just got to be patient that some day science will help me with this one".
