Thomas Tuchel's side are due to face the tournament co-hosts at the Estadio Azteca, with kick-off set for 6pm local time (1am Monday Irish time).
Discussions were held with tournament officials and other stakeholders about the possibility of bringing the match forward because of forecasts for adverse weather. Reports suggested an earlier kick-off of 12pm local time had been considered, but it is understood no decision has been made to alter the schedule.
FIFA will continue to monitor conditions ahead of the match. Under tournament safety protocols, play must be suspended for at least 30 minutes if lightning is detected within an eight-mile radius of the stadium. The countdown restarts if another lightning strike occurs during that period.
World Cup regulations also give FIFA the authority to postpone, reschedule or relocate fixtures if necessary, including in cases of force majeure or where health, safety or security concerns arise.
Meanwhile, England received a hostile reception on their arrival at their team hotel in Mexico City.
The team had hoped to keep their accommodation private after Mexico supporters used loudspeakers, horns and motorcycles to disrupt Ecuador's players ahead of the hosts' 2-0 victory in the previous round.
However, hundreds of supporters had gathered outside England's hotel before the team arrived. Many booed the players and staff, while others chanted "Mexico". One fan was also seen holding up an England shirt.
Security around the hotel has since been increased following complaints from the Ecuadorian Football Federation about the disturbances earlier in the week.
There is also a heightened security presence across Mexico City after four people were killed during celebrations following Mexico's victory over Ecuador.
