Rob Reiner has been posthumously honoured with an Emmy Award for his appearance in TV series The Bear.
Reiner (78) and his wife Michele Singer Reiner (70) were found dead in their home in Los Angeles last December.
Their son Nick, 32, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, however he has pleaded not guilty.
Reiner was announced as one of the winners at the ceremony in the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
He was up against Michael J Fox and Brett Goldstein for Shrinking, Hamish Linklater for Widow’s Bay, Christopher McDonald for Hacks and Connor Storrie for Saturday Night Live.
The Spinal Tap director won for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series after his role as Albert Schnurr in an episode of The Bear.
After his win was announced, presenter Wendi McLendon-Covey told the audience that it was "appropriate" to stand.
"I know we all wish Rob could be here tonight to share in the celebration; I'm honoured to accept this Emmy on his behalf," she said.
Reiner's posthumous came 48 years after he won his first Emmy, making him now the record holder for the longest gap between acting wins in Emmy history.
Coincidentally, Reiner's father, Carl Reiner was the previous record holder after winning in the same category in 1995 37 years after he first won.
Reiner is the first posthumous Emmy winner in an acting category since Raul Julia in 1995.
