Katie Taylor has revealed that she would love to see Irish actress Saoirse Ronan portray her in a movie based on her life.
This comes after the Bray fighter brought the curtain down on a truly wonderful boxing career with a points victory over French undefeated fighter, Flora Pili, firmly cementing her status as one of the greatest Irish sports stars of all time.
Speaking at her press conference after the fight, Taylor was asked who she would like to see play her in a film about her life and career.
It was at this point that Taylor mentioned the Irish Oscar nominated actress, Saoirse Ronan.
“Saoirse Ronan maybe", Taylor replied, before offering some pearls of wisdom for the actress.
“She has to start working on her neck though,” Taylor joked. “She has a bit of a skinny neck and I have a big fat neck,” she added with a laugh. (All quotes according to the Irish Independent).
Saoirse Ronan is certainly someone who boasts an impressive CV, having received four Oscar nominations in her career, for Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird and Little Women.
Saoirse Ronan was cast in the upcoming Beatles biopics, directed by Sam Mendes, alongside Aimee Lou Wood. Ronan will play Linda McCartney. More on this from Nova here.
