The BBC revealed that they delayed the Ozzy Osbourne documentary at request of his family.
The hour-long film documenting the rock stars' final years was pulled last minute from Monday's listings without reason.
In a new statement the BBC revealed the reason behind the sudden decision saying: “We are respecting the family's wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film.”
"Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time” they add.
The documentary, 'Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home', was set to air just a month after the Black Sabbath singer’s death, and a new broadcast date of the doc has yet to be confirmed.
The documentary was originally meant to be a 10-part series which followed Ozzy and his wife Sharon as they "attempt to restart their lives" in Buckinghamshire after years of living in the US.
However as Ozzy's health began to deteriorate the series was turned into a single hour-long film that depicted the last three years of the ‘Crazy Train’ singer’s life before he died at age 76.
BBC Documentaries, said earlier this month that the film captured “family moments, humour, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy’s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life”.
The doc followed the rock icon as he embarked on a journey to be fit enough to perform a final farewell gig ‘Back To The Beginning’, his final live show before his passing.
That gig took place on July 5 at Villa Park, in Sabbath’s hometown of Birmingham. The show saw Ozzy joined by rock heavyweights including Guns N’ Roses, KoRn, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Gojira, Anthrax, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
