Brandon Flowers has revealed when the next Killers album will arrive, as well as confirming details for his two upcoming solo albums.
Flowers has said that the next Killers' album will arrive in 2027, following the conclusion of his next solo album and tour. This will mark the Killers' first new album since they released 'Pressure Machine' in 2021.
“My best guess is that in 2027 you will get the best Killers record", Flowers said according to The Sun. “I have two records complete. One is almost mixed. The other will follow shortly. I’m trying to decide how this is going to work logistically,” he added. “I had a ball making them in Nashville. It’s a departure for sure. Gotta keep you all on your toes".
Explaining why it has taken so long for the band to release this new album, Flowers added: “In 2022 we finally took ‘Imploding The Mirage’ on the road. It was immense and we did 90-plus gigs".
“In 2023 we did 65 more gigs. There was a pent-up demand for that communal experience after Covid. Here’s where it gets tricky", he continued. “Then 2024 saw us celebrating 20 years of ‘Hot Fuss’ with the residency at Caesar’s, and 20 years of the band with ‘Rebel Diamonds’.
He went on to add: “The production and time that went into it all wiped out 2024, 2025 wrapped up so the two solo records I expect will be coming out in 2026. We’ve been writing here and there".
In August last year, The Killers shared their new single, 'Bright Lights'.
The music video for this track featured footage of the band's Vegas residency stage from later that year, showing the famous 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign, including the band's logo.
“You know I think it’s gonna be alright / You know I think it’s gonna be alright / Just take me back and let me sing my song / Turn the bright lights on", Flowers can be heard singing.
Prior to its release, The Killers had been sharing clips on social media, offering previews of this residency.
One such video showed Flowers performing a bold, pulsating guitar part and vocals as he sings: 'Turn the lights back on'. The video also includes piano and gospel-style backing vocals. More on this from Nova here.
Back in April of this year, The Killers shared footage of their 2022 live encore with Bruce Springsteen at Madison Square Garden for Record Store Day. Find out more on this story from Nova here.
