Bruce Springsteen Cancels Two US Shows After Being “Taken Ill”

Bruce Springsteen has confirmed that he has been forced to cancel two US shows, after being “taken ill”.

The Boss made this announcement via his social media accounts, just hours he was due to take to the stage for the first of two Pennsylvania headline shows, taking place at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.

The second of these shows which was due to take place tomorrow night (August 18), has also been called off.

News of these cancelled shows was confirmed via a social media update, where fans who purchased tickets for these shows were also told that they would remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

“Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed”, the announcement read.

“We are working on rescheduling the dates so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows”.

At the time of writing, no update was given regarding Springsteen’s health, nor was one provided for rescheduled dates or venue changes.

The ‘Born In the USA’ singer is due to perform at the Gillette Stadium in Foxton, Massachusetts, next week (August 24 and 26).
