Bruce Springsteen has announced the release of a limited edition vinyl box set which will feature five albums and two EP’s to be released on May 18th. Entitled ‘The Album Collection Vol.2 1987 – 1996’ the release will deliver remastered editions of 1987’s ‘Tunnel Of Love‘ and 1992’s ‘Lucky Town’ and ‘Human Touch‘.
There’s also a live MTV album called ‘In Concert MTV Plugged’ from 1993, 1995’s ‘The Ghost Of Tom Joad‘ and extended plays come in the form of 1988’s ‘Chimes Of Freedom‘ EP, and the first-ever vinyl release of the 1996 EP ‘Blood Brothers.’
Remastered by acclaimed engineer Bob Ludwig and Springsteen’s longtime engineer Toby Scott, the project offers recreations of the albums’ original packaging, alongside a 60-page book featuring rarely seen photos, memorabilia and original press clippings from the time.
All four of Springsteen’s studio albums from this period were certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum by the RIAA, with three reaching the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.
The new collection comes after the 2014 release of ‘The Album Collection Vol. 1, 1973-1984’, which comprised of newly remastered releases of the first seven Springsteen studio albums.
