CAB Swoop Early To Procure Profits Of Crime

Following an early morning CAB swoop, a man has been arrested and questioned by Gardaí after cash, drugs, caravans among other items were seized following searches across five counties this morning.

The searches, targeting the proceeds of organised crime, were carried out on in Louth, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan and Dublin by the Criminal Assets Bureau, the Garda Emergency Response Unit, the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Revenue Customs, and local gardaí.

Items retrieved include almost €30,000 in cash, stolen caravans, a Mercedes Benz, strimmers and lawn mowers, suspected cannabis herb and cocaine with a street value of about €1,000, a Rolex Daytona, and a quantity of documents and mobile phones. A freezing order has been made on a substantial sum of cash.

During the course of this morning’s searches the following list of property has been seized:

1. Approximately €27,800 in cash and £1,570 (sterling).

2. Two stolen caravans.

3. One Mercedes Benz car.

4. A selection of strimmer’s and lawn mowers.

5. Cannabis herb & Cocaine (subject to analysis) street value €1,000 approximately.

6. A Rolex watch.
