Callum Turner Is New Favourite For Next James Bond

Callum Turner is the new favourite actor up for being cast as the next James Bond.

The English actor who is best known for his role in Masters of Air and the Fantastic Beasts films is the bookies current favourite to be the next Bond.

According to NME, Turner has 7-4 odds of being the next 007, he is followed by Aaron Taylor Johnson with 3-1 odds and Henry Cavill with 6-1 odds.

Anthony Boyle, Harris Dickinson and Jack Lowden are among actors also favoured for the role. However, Turner remains the most popular as he is described as the "red hot" favourite according to Coral Bookmakers via The Standard. “We’ve been knocked over with support for Callum Turner in our next James Bond betting over the last 24 hours. The British actor is now the red-hot favourite for the role," said Coral’s John Hill.

Last month saw former 007, Pierce Brosnan reveal that he would be open to returning to the world of James Bond. Brosnan stated that he would entertain the idea of returning if he was casted as a retired agent. Read more on Nova here.

Despite Turner being the bookies current favourite, it was previously reported that Amazon were searching for a fresh face to play the role of Bond.

Previously there was speculation that Tom Holland would take on the role of Bond as Amazon released that they would prefer to cast an actor in their late 20's. Holland addressed these rumours in August of this year stating "we'll get there one day." Although some fans suggested that he was "too adorable" to play the role of 007. Read more on Nova here. 

In other news, Turner and Dua Lipa announced that they were engaged back in June. Lipa told British Vogue that Turner had the ring custom made, "I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well," she said.

"This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever—it’s a really special feeling," she expressed to British Vogue.
