Last night, Cruz Beckham and his band, The Breakers played the first of three sold out shows at The Courtyard Theatre in London.
These shows at the London venue serve as the finale to the singer's debut headline of the UK and Europe, which has seen him and the perform across a wide range of venues over the past month.
On the night, Beckham, along with bandmates Dan Ewins, Telmo Seixas, and Dario Scotti, played a myriad of tracks from their back catalogue, including ‘Optics’, ‘Lick The Toad’, and ‘For Your Love’, as well as a number of unheard tracks, which would appear to suggest that a full length project is on the cards.
Largely, these shows have been met with mainly positive comments from the reviews, with many noting that Cruz Beckham did not get where he is today because of his famous name and parents, who are of course former footballer David and Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham.
Cruz's guitar play came in for particular praise by The Telegraph, who noted: “The band, clearly having the time of their lives, are impressively tight, and Cruz’s guitar playing is more than a match for the more seasoned musicians", while The Times added that “his enthusiasm is infectious".
This has been a huge vindication for Cruz, who had said in a previous interview that he hoped to put a "smile on people's faces" with his new music.
"Honestly, just to keep making music and keep trying to put a smile on people’s faces", Cruz said. "People need it right now".
It was also reported that Cruz has been working closely with The Kooks' Luke Pritchard, who had been helping him with his songwriting.
“He has really good taste in music. We chat about early Bee Gees – there aren’t many people I can do that with. We started writing songs together and we’ve become mates. I’d just love to help him navigate [a career in music]", Pritchard said of Cruz as a musician.
Previously, Cruz Beckham had released the single, For Your Love, which features his bandmates, as well as his grandfather Tony Adams, who Beckham described as an "amazing, amazing human".
"He was in a band when he was younger and we just relate so much on music", he continued. "I just love talking to him about music and playing songs. Once I found out that he was part of a band, I got a lot more into it and then found out about The Beatles because of him".
