Fans and friends of the late Taylor Hawkins have been paying tribute to the late drummer on the fourth anniversary of his death.

Hawkins, who had been a member of the band since 1997, died just before Foo Fighters were about to hit the stage in Bogotá, Colombia as part of their tour in 2022. A cocktail of drugs were found in the musician's system, including marijuana, antidepressants and opiates at the time of his death. More on this here.

On this anniversary, a number of friends paid tributes to Hawkins, including photographer, Sarah Jeynes, who shared a series of photos, including shots of their first meeting in 2005, where she said he “offered me his coat because it was cold".

She also included photos from a Maida Vale session in 2019, as well as a shot from Foo Fighters' live headline performance at Reading Festival that same year.

“Oh T. Thinking of you", she added in the caption.

Other names to pay tribute include Rufus Taylor from the Darkness, who shared a video of Hawkins talking about his band, and describing him as a person he "loves dearly".

"4 Years. Love you bro", he added in the caption.

Last week, Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl spoke about Hawkins' death, claiming that it made him "question everything about life".

Speaking to MOJO, Grohl said that “losing Taylor was never meant to be,” adding: “That threw our world upside down and made me question everything about life, that it was so unfair. I still have a hard time making sense of it".

He also explained that he had "no plan" to record new music following Hawkins' death, but soon realised that making new music was "something we needed to do it". More on this from Nova here.

In a separate interview, Dave Grohl explained how continuing as a band following Hawkins' death was "really complicated" and that they "talk about him every day".

"We had Taylor Hawkins as our drummer for 25 years and, beyond being an amazing drummer, he was this incredible spirit", he said. "He was this incredible human being and he was our brother. He was our best friend. So continuing on after Taylor was really complicated, not just for us, but for any drummer that was going to come in to like, you know, fill his shoes".
