Elton John fans have been left fuming after it was a price of £1,200 was announced for VIP tickets to his final tour date. Fans will not get to meet the star after the show and will only receive a solitary gift bag.
For such a huge amount of money for a gig, fans would expect a little more from the Rocketman singer. For those willing to fork out such an amount, they will receive a gift bag, including a welcome letter, a drawing, and are allowed to keep their own chair from the “ultra-exclusive” section.
Fans have been warned by ticket websites selling the “Ultimate” VIP package for next June’s Yellow Brick Road – The Final Tour date in Norwich. One released the following statement: “Elton John does not participate in any VIP-related activities. VIP Packages do not include a meet & greet with Elton.”
For fans who fork for the high-priced VIP ticket, they will receive complimentary booze, finger food, “decadent” desserts, a dedicated host, and a “behind the scenes” tour. If people are planning on taking a “cheaper” option, there are normal tickets on sale – albeit for £200 each. One fan, Kyle Anderson, said: “I wanna get tickets but they are mad expensive.”
The 74-year-old musician, who is reportedly worth £375million, has been playing a whopping 300 shows to his adoring fans since 2018. Elton has claimed this will be his “farewell” tour, as he may plan to finally hang up the fabulously-shaped glasses.
Meanwhile, speculation has circulated among Elton John fans that the music icon is set to perform at Glastonbury in 2022. Although the lineup for next year has yet to be confirmed, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted a “glasto-sized gap” in the final dates of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. The singer recently announced a stop off at Bristol on June 22nd, before returning to Swansea on June 29th.
