Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine

Last night in Syndey, Florence & The Machine played a surprise acoustic set in anticipation of their headline gig this weekend . The show saw 500 people turn out at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair on the city’s harbour yesterday evening.

This weekend Florence & The Machine will be headlining Splendour In The Grass at Byron Bay. To warm up for the show, she played a stripped down acoustic set which included a host of tracks from her newest album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.

Florence played her hit single ‘What Kind Of Man’, as well as ‘Ship To Wreck’ and ‘Queen of Peace’. Florence also performed some of her older songs like ‘Shake It Out’, ‘ Dogs Day Are Over’ as well as a song she features in with Calvin Harris ‘Sweet Nothing’.

Those in attendance were quick to post about the intimate performance on social media. Before she was about to play, Florence sent out a tweet letting fans know that she would be playing. Needless to say once she announced that she would be playing people flocked to the small venue.

Florence and The Machine will be headlining Electric Picnic this September, so for those lucky enough to have gotten a ticket you can see Florence in all her glory in Stradbally at the end of the summer.
