Electric Picnic wrapped up another huge weekend in Stradbally, County Laois on Sunday, with Fontaines D.C. closing out the festival and The Saw Doctors bringing some very special guests onto the stage.

The Mayo connection made for one of the weekend’s standout moments, as the All-Ireland winning Mayo team joined The Saw Doctors during their set.

Around 80,000 music fans attended this year’s sold-out festival, with Lewis Capaldi, Gorillaz and Fontaines D.C. among the major acts performing across the weekend.

And while Electric Picnic 2026 may be over, there is already good news for anyone planning to return next year.

Festival director Melvin Benn has confirmed that ticket prices for Electric Picnic 2027 will remain unchanged, with no increase in either capacity or ticket prices.

There is no increase in capacity for next year or no increase in the ticket price next year,” he said.

Tickets for next year’s festival go on general sale on Friday 4th September, with the partner pre-sale beginning on Tuesday. Loyalty and general sale will follow on Friday.

Benn also praised this year’s festival lineup, describing it as the “best lineup of any festival in Ireland”.

There was a particularly strong Irish presence across the weekend, with acts including Amble, CMAT and Fontaines D.C. featuring prominently.

Fontaines D.C. closed out the festival on Sunday night, following a weekend which saw the Dublin band also perform at Reading and Leeds.

Benn said the strong Irish presence on the lineup reflects the success of Irish artists at home and internationally.

It has a very heavy Irish emphasis this year because that is appropriate - the Irish acts are dominating the UK and Ireland there’s no question about that, they’re getting out there to the USA and Europe,” he said.

He also said the festival does not select artists simply because they are Irish.

We don’t choose them just because they’re Irish, we choose them because they’re great.”

CMAT, who performed on Saturday, summed up the scale of the weekend for her, saying: “This is probably as good as it’s ever going to get for me, so give me a minute to soak it all in!

There were plenty of sunny spells over the weekend too, with the weather helping to keep festival spirits high despite some wet conditions.

But for Mayo supporters, the highlight was undoubtedly seeing their All-Ireland champions celebrated on stage with The Saw Doctors.

Captain Jack Coyne was among 13 members of the victorious Mayo squad who took to the Main Stage during the Tuam band’s set, just over a month after the county ended a 75-year wait to lift the Sam Maguire Cup.

The appearance gave the festival a distinctly Irish flavour as the county’s football success was celebrated alongside one of its best-known bands.
