Gardai have recovered a loaded gun after searching wasteland in Blanchardstown in Dublin.
The semi-automatic sawn-off shotgun was found on the Sheephill Estate yesterday and has been sent for testing.
The discovery followed the search of a house at Sheephill Park by Gardai targetting criminal activity in Blanchardstown.
No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
