Garth Brooks has described playing five concerts at Croke Park as “unbelievable”.

It was confirmed yesterday morning that the country singer will play three extra dates at the venue, on top of the two dates that were already scheduled.

“All my love to you”

Taking to Twitter to react to the news, Garth Brooks had this to say.

“Just waking up to the news!!!!”, the singer tweeted to his Irish fans. “Unbelievable!!!!! All my love to you!!!”.

Tickets for the Friends In Low Places singer’s intial two dates went on sale yesterday morning. These gigs were planned for 9 and 10 September.

Due to high demand, an extra date was then added within 40 minutes of the tickets going up for sale.

At 10am, it was confirmed that a further two dates would be added. These gigs will take place on the 16 and 17 of September.

Popular demand saw all five dates at GAA’s Headquarters sell out.

At the time, Ticketmaster tweeted this, “ – Due to demand, @garthbrooks has added an extra TWO dates at Dublin’s @CrokePark on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September 2022″.

Brooks had previously called the possibility of playing five nights at the venue “impossible”.

He had joked, “I’d love to do five, but I’d also love to be 6’5″ and have abs”.

“If there is a blessing in that curse of what happened in 2014, it’s the fact that there is a chance that this artist, and those people that were sweet enough to get those tickets before, now have a chance to hopefully see each other again”, he continued.

“It’s the greatest privilege and the greatest joy an artist can have to play Ireland. It’s the greatest heartache to be told you can’t”.

Having had to pull the plug on these shows back in 2014, Brooks compared that moment to losing a member of his family.

It’s the greatest privilege and the greatest joy an artist can have to play Ireland – it’s the greatest heartache to be told you can’t”, he said.
