Jack Osbourne has shared how his mother Sharon is coping with the loss of her husband Ozzy.
The Black Sabbath singer died in July aged 76, just weeks after the band had played their final farewell in Villa Park, Birmingham, where the singer told the audience: “Your support has enabled us to live an amazing lifestyle, thank you from the bottom of our hearts”. More on this here.
Back in August, Jack Osbourne shared a moving tribute to his father.
"He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him Dad", Jack wrote at the time. See the tribute in full here.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Jack Osbourne offered a fresh update as to how the family are coping with this painful loss.
"It's just a lot of checking in with each other daily and rolling through the emotions of it all," Jack said. "Just knowing that, hey, someone else is feeling similar to the way I do - meaning my sisters or my mom - is so helpful".
Focusing on his mother, Jack said that Sharon understandably has her good and bad days since losing her husband, who she was married to for over four decades.
"She's OK, but she's not OK," he said. "It's ups and downs. She's just trying to figure out where to go from here, how to navigate, what's the new norm, what's the new baseline, 'What do I do without my person?'".
Thankfully, Jack said that Sharon was surrounded by family and friends to help her to carry on.
"She's got a lot of love and support around her," he explained.
Osbourne also added that his father would have wanted his family to carry on with their lives, rather than wallow in self pity.
"The amount of times I could just hear him going, 'What are you all crying for?' is endless," Jack reflected. "He would think this is all so ridiculous".
