The sons of Beatles legends Paul McCartney and John Lennon have teamed up to release a new song.

Sean Yoko Lennon and James McCartney have co-written a song together called ‘Primrose Hill’, a tribute to a scenic park in North West London.

James McCartney’s mother is Paul McCartney’s first wife Linda, while Sean Yoko Lennon’s mother is John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono.

The promo video for this song also saw James McCartney seek the assistance of his sister Mary McCartney, making it a true family affair.

“very excited”

Sharing the news of the pair’s collaboration on X/Twitter, James McCartney wrote this.

“Primrose Hill’ is here! Today I am so very excited to share my latest song co-written by my good friend @seanonolennon”, he said. “With the release of this song it feels like we’re really getting the ball rolling and I am so excited to continue to share music with you”.

This collaboration was met with a huge seal of approval from James’ father Paul McCartney who shared this message via Facebook.

“My son James has a new song out called Primrose Hill – check it out”, he wrote. “And lots of love to Sean Ono Lennon who co-wrote the song”.

This comes following the news that the Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ film would be made available on Disney+.

This movie has also been remastered using the original 16mm negative, with support from Hogg. It will also include the same audio de-mixing technology that was used in Peter Jackson’s Get Back.
