Joni Mitchell To Perform At Grammys For The First Time

Joni Mitchell will perform at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony, for the first time in her sixty year career.

The Canadian folk singer will make her debut at the event, which takes place this weekend, on Sunday February 4.

This news was confirmed via X, in a collaborative post between the Royal Academy, and Mitchell’s private account.

“Don’t miss 9-time GRAMMY winner and past @MusiCares Person of the Year Joni Mitchell’s first ever #GRAMMYs performance! Tune-in to @CBS on Sunday. Feb. 4 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT”, the post read.

News of this comes months after Joni Mitchell ended her 20 year hiatus, when she performed at the Newport Folk Festival last June.

The singer has suffered with several health issues in recent years, including a brain aneuyrsm in 2015.

Mitchell performed alongside several household names including Marcus Mumford, Celisse and Brandi Carlile as part of a show titled, ‘Brandi Carlile and Friends’.

Billy Joel To Perform At Grammys

This news regarding Joni Mitchell comes just days after Billy Joel had also announced that he would be returning to the stage to perform at the Grammys, for the first time in 22 years.

Mitchell and Joel will also join stars such as Dua Lipa, Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, and Oliva Rodrigo at this year’s ceremony.

The Grammy Awards takes place at LA’s Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday.
