Billy Joel To Play At Grammys For First Time In 22 Years

Billy Joel has announced that he will play at the Grammy Awards ceremony, for the first time in 22 years.

Taking place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 4, Joel will perform at the ceremony, joining artists such as Dua Lipa, Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, and Oliva Rodrigo.

This will also mark Joel’s first appearance at the ceremony, since sharing the stage with the late Tony Bennett at 2002’s ceremony.

Billy Joel To  ‘Turn The Lights Back On’

News of his upcoming Grammys appearance, comes just days after Joel announced his first new solo single in 17 years, ‘Turn The Lights Back On’.

Joel wrote the track alongside  Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Freddy Wexler. Wexler also producer the song, with Arthur Bacon and Wayne Hector.

The singer had previously teased the possible release of new music via social media.

“I have good news, I have bad news, I’ll give you the bad news first. We don’t have anything new to play for you”, Joel can be heard saying on TikTok.

He also added, “The good news is you don’t have to sit through something you have no idea what it is! Although … we got a little something we’re working on you might hear some time”.
