Keith Richards confirmed that The Rolling Stones won't be touring in 2026 but that "we can talk next year."

This comes shortly after the band announced their new album 'Foreign Tongues', that features vocals from Paul McCartney, Robert Smith and more.

At the end of 2025, The Rolling Stones cancelled all plans to tour the UK and Europe due to Richards being "unable to commit". The months before, consisted of constant hints of potential live shows however these plans were eventually axed. A spokesperson for the band told the Irish Sun that the band were planning on hitting the road after they released their brand new album.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Richards was asked about the bands plans to tour. He said: “We can talk next year. At the moment, we’re just sort of saying, we’ve finished the record… [and we’re] considering what to do after. Pretty soon, but not this year.”

The band recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the band revealed how they came about working with The Cure's lead singer, Robert Smith. “He was standing there with his back to me and this long gown on and when he turned around, he was covered in lipstick. And I said, I never met him before, ‘You’re Robert Smith of The Cure’. And he said, ‘Yeah, we’ve never met’. And I said, ‘While you’re here, you better go and do something’. That’s how collaborations work sometimes,” Mick Jagger said.

“I love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis, It was a very intense few weeks recording ‘Foreign Tongues’. We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone," Jagger continued.

If the band do tour next year, fans are already asking if they will make a stop at the iconic Glastonbury festival. 2013 was the last time we saw The Rolling Stones perform on the pyramid stage which was also their first time at the festival.

Oasis have been rumoured to make an appearance on the pyramid stage, along with artists such as Sam Fender, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. However Liam Gallagher previously stated that he "hates" the pyramid stage and “it’s like playing to a load of jamboree teachers”.

Organisers of the festival announced that they will be taking a break and will return June 2027, with the festival taking place between Wednesday June 23 and Sunday June 27, 2027. The festival traditionally takes a year off to let the farmland recover, their last fallow was back in 2018 and they of course they also took a break during the 2020 and 2021 pandemic.
