It’s that time of year again to recognise the excellence of Irish Whiskey producers and distillers! Sincerely thanks Lads!

Entries are now being accepted for this year’s Irish Whiskey Awards, which will be held at the fancy new Jameson Distillery, Bow Street, Dublin 7 on Thursday October 19th 2017.

The awards are now in their fifth year and span a total of 20 categories.

The closing date for all entries is Tuesday 1st August and entry forms are available from the Celtic Whiskey Shop and www.irishwhiskeyawards.com

As usual, members of the Celtic Whiskey Club and the Irish Whiskey Society will judge all whiskeys. Nice work if you can get it!

Last year’s awards saw Knappogue Castle 14 Year-Old win the coveted award for Irish Whiskey of the Year, while Dick Mack’s in Dingle won the gong for Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year.

  • Irish Whiskey of the Year
  • Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey
  • Irish Single Malt Whiskey (12 Years & Younger)
  • Single Malt Whiskey (13 Years & Older)

Celtic Whiskey Shop will be working with its charity partner Mary’s Meals and all proceeds from the awards night will go towards helping feed children in impoverished areas of the world.

Also presented by the Celtic Whiskey Shop, is this year’s Whisky Live. Ireland’s premier whiskey tasting event returns to The Printworks at Dublin Castle on Saturday 25th November with two sessions at 1.30-5.00pm and 6.00-9.30pm. Now in its seventh year, Whiskey Live Dublin brings together an eclectic range of whiskeys, along with great food and whiskey master classes.

Visitors can sample whiskey, whiskey cask-matured craft beers, whiskey cocktails and other Irish spirits whilst mingling with producers and distillers from the industry. It promises to be great craic. Some of Dublin’s best restaurants will also be present with delicious food pairings to match some of the excellent whiskeys they are sipping on.

Tickets are available for two sessions; 1.30-5.00pm and 6.00-9.30pm priced at €42.00 plus booking fee with the Celtic Whiskey Shop donating €10 per ticket to Down Syndrome Dublin. Tickets are available from the Celtic Whiskey Shop, 27-28 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, by phone at 01-675 9744 or visit www.whiskeylivedublin.com for more details.
