Man Dies Following Shooting In Dublin

A man has died following a Shooting in Dublin. The man was killed in Popintree Crescent, Ballymun after being shot at just after 11 pm on Friday night. The man was aged 45 years old and he was killed following the shooting in north Dublin.

Rescue services were called to the incident, where the man was pronounced dead. Gardai are appealing for witnesses into the fatal shooting and an incident room has been set up at Ballymun Garda Station.

Popintree Crescent and Popintree Park have been sealed off and are presently being preserved for forensic and technical examination. The body of the man is still at the scene and State Pathologist has been notified.

According to The Independent, TD Dessie Ellis said that the local community is in shock and fear at the capital’s latest gun violence. “It’s shocking that we now have another incident like this in Ballymun. The community here is very worried that this violence is continuing. We need to stop them and we need people to give information.

“I know there are certainly some people that are afraid but at the end of the day people have to have the courage to come forward because it will just continue unabated without any help from the public. The public is crucial in terms of information.”
