Director Matt Reeves has teased more music arriving from The Batman soundtrack.

Taking to Twitter, Reeves shared a link to a playlist of music coming from composer Michael Giacchino.

Like the trailers have teased, the theme of this music is largely sombre and downcast. However, it also includes orchestral stabs, building to a triumphant finale.

Both Reeves and Giacchino’s working relationship can be traced back a long way. The pair also collaborated on the score for 2008’s Coverfield. They also worked on tracks for films such as Dawn of the Planet Of The Apes, War For Planet Of The Apes, and Let Me In.

The Caped Crusader

This film will also mark actor Robert Pattinson’s debut as the Caped Crusader Batman.

The movie will also star Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the villain, The Riddler. Jeffrey Wright will feature as police chief James Gordan, Andy Serkis will portray the role of butler Alred Pennyworth, while Colin Farrell will play Penguin.

The film’s synopsis reads,  “Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon – amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens”.

Earlier this month, Matt Reeves had also revealed that The Batman titular protagonist was inspired by the late rockstar Kurt Cobain. It will also explore the former Nirvana frontman’s battles with drug addiction.

“When I considered, ‘How do you do Bruce Wayne in a way that hasn’t been seen before?’ I started thinking, ‘What if some tragedy happened [ie: Wayne sees his parents murdered] and this guy becomes so reclusive, we don’t know what he’s doing? Is this guy some kind of wayward, reckless, drug addict?”, Reeves said.

“And the truth is that he is a kind of drug addict. His drug is his addiction to this drive for revenge. He’s like a Batman Kurt Cobain”.

The Batman will arrive in UK cinemas on March 4.
