Overnight rail maintenance is being carried out by Iarnród Éireann across a number of areas in Dublin, which may lead to several disruptions in the city.
Irish Rail carry out regular track maintenance at night in order to avoid disrupting passenger trains during the day, which is essential to keep the railway system safe and reliable. The works are carried out outside of operational hours.
Due to the crews' use of power tools and heavy machinery, nearby residents may experience noise disruptions.
This work is usually conducted between midnight and 6am, although Sunday works may continue until 8am.
Irish Rail released this statement: "We endeavour to notify house owners adjacent to the railway of any planned night-time works near their homes. In the case of apartment blocks and multiple units, communication is primarily through the relevant management companies or multiple unit owner".
The following night time rail works are to take place over the coming week.
Earlier this month, Irish Rail services between Newbridge and Dublin face significant delays following a signalling issue at Hazlechurch in Kildare. More on this story from Nova here.
