One person has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Castleknock, Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Auburn Avenue at around 1am, with the apartment block evacuated as firefighters worked to tackle the blaze.
Five fire engines remain at the scene as operations continue.
The building is located south of the M50-N3 junction, also known as the Blanchardstown exit.
Traffic disruption is expected in the area this morning, with the outbound slip road from the Navan Road onto the M50 currently closed as a result of the incident.
The closure is expected to remain in place until around 10.30am.
Dublin Bus services are also affected, with the 38 route diverting via Castleknock Road due to the emergency response.
Gardaí confirmed they attended the scene alongside fire services shortly before 1am.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí assisted fire services at the scene of a fire at a residential property in Blanchardstown, Co Dublin, shortly before 1am today Friday, May 22.”
No further details on injuries or the cause of the fire have yet been released.
