Next month, Paramount Plus will release Ozzy: No Escape From Now, the first full-length documentary chronicling the Black Sabbath icon’s turbulent and emotional last chapter. The two-hour film premieres on October 7 and promises a raw, unflinching portrait of the Prince of Darkness in his final six years.

Directed by BAFTA-winner Tania Alexander and produced in collaboration with the Osbourne family, the documentary begins with the catastrophic fall Ozzy suffered at home in 2019, an accident that accelerated his health decline and ultimately forced him to step away from touring in 2023. What follows is a deeply personal journey, charting both his resilience and fragility.

The film explores the making of his last two solo records, Ordinary Man (2020) and Patient Number 9 (2022). These albums, recorded against the odds, became symbols of defiance: art created not in spite of frailty, but through it. No Escape From Now also captures one of his bravest moments, stepping onto the stage at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, frail yet defiant, to remind the world of his unbreakable spirit.

Viewers will also see the emotional build to his retirement concert Back To The Beginning at Villa Park in July 2024, where Ozzy reunited with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for the first time in almost two decades. It was a triumphant, bittersweet reunion, just two weeks before his death.

Alongside Sharon, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, the documentary features tributes from Tony Iommi, Slash and Duff McKagan, James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo, Billy Idol, Maynard James Keenan, and Chad Smith. Together they paint a picture of a man whose shadow stretched across generations of rock and metal.

“Ozzy: No Escape From Now” is more than a documentary, it’s the definitive final chapter of one of the most chaotic, influential, and beloved figures in rock history.
