Paul McCartney has delighted fans after revealing the surprisingly precise breakfast routine he follows every morning, including one very specific requirement when it comes to his favourite berries.
The Beatles legend shared the details during an appearance on Good Hang with Amy Poehler, where the conversation turned to his morning habits and what he likes to eat to start the day.

McCartney explained that his breakfast is relatively simple, consisting of a small bowl of cereal topped with berries. However, there is one detail he is particularly strict about.
“Five raspberries,” he told Poehler, before confirming that it “gotta be five.”
He also adds a handful of blueberries and a strawberry, which he cuts into pieces himself.
When Poehler jokingly described the preparation as meditative, McCartney appeared amused by how much attention his ordinary breakfast was receiving.

The musician revealed that he generally drinks water in the morning rather than coffee or tea, although he sometimes enjoys a coffee later in the day. He also mentioned adding a few pecans and raisins to his breakfast.
The wholesome revelation has given fans a glimpse into the everyday routine of one of the most famous musicians in the world, with the exact number of raspberries proving to be a particularly memorable detail.
However, breakfast was just one of the subjects discussed during McCartney's wide-ranging conversation with Poehler.

The 84-year-old also became emotional while remembering his late wife, Linda McCartney, who died from breast cancer in 1998.
Speaking about Linda's love of animals, he recalled how she would carefully pick up a frog if they came across one in the garden, making sure not to hurt it.
“She had this kind of Disney-esque view of animals,” he explained on Good Hang.
He became tearful as he remembered the way she handled the creature, saying: “I'm getting emotional now — the way she would hold it, it wouldn't hurt it.” He recalled that Linda would say, “Its mommy loved it.”

McCartney also discussed the upcoming Beatles biopics directed by Sam Mendes, revealing that he had contacted the filmmaker after seeing images that appeared to show the actor playing John Lennon standing noticeably taller than Paul Mescal, who is portraying McCartney.
He joked that he had messaged Mendes: “Sam! Smaller? Don't do this! You said you wouldn't do it!” The director reportedly reassured him that the apparent difference was down to their strides in the photograph.
The interview also touched on McCartney's music and his memories of growing up in a family that moved between life on a farm and touring in front of huge crowds.
