Radiohead drummer Phil Selway has hinted that the band could return in the very near future.

Having released their last group project, their album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ in 2016, the band members went their separate ways, to focus on their various side projects, including Selway who released his third solo album ‘Straight Dance’ this year.

That album included the single, ‘Picking Up Pieces’, which was released by Selway last January. Check that out here.

“round to that point now”

Speaking at a recent appearance on a live stream with the Crow Hill Company this week, Phil Selway offered fresh hope to Radiohead fans that the band could reunite soon.

“We’ve actually had a little break for a minute; the last show that we did was back in 2018, but we’re coming back ’round to that point now”, Selway said.

He added, “We’re all coming back around to that point now of thinking, ‘Right, we’ve had a break — this is it. This feels like something to dive back into and really explore and see what other directions it can take us in”.

The drummer also pointed to the band’s chemistry as a key reason why Radiohead will continue.

“There is just something particular to that relationship — that creative relationship and personal relationship — actually, you can’t get anywhere else”, he said.

Alongside Selway, other Radiohead bandmates have been busy with various creative outlets.

Frontman Thom Yorke, and guitarist Jason Greenwood have been working on their side project The Smile, confirming the release of their new album ‘Wall Of Eyes’, which will arrive on January 26.

Ed O’Brien has been working on his solo material, as well as contributing to Paul McCartney’s latest album, ‘McCartney III’.
