Rage Against The Machine Bassist Tim Commerford has recently said that he apologises for influencing Limp Bizkit. RATM have influenced a lot of other rap metal bands as well down through the years.
Limp Bizkit have even covered a RATM song showing their appreciation for them as they often play 'Killing In The Name' at some of their gigs. Also at a show in 2014 Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst praised RATM saying "to the rap-rock band that started this sh*t."
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Tim Commerford said "I do apologise for Limp Bizkit," later adding that "I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such bullsh*t."
Commerford continued as he just assumed that Limp Bizkit had actually broken up saying "They're gone, though. That's the beautiful thing. There's only one left, and that's Rage, and as far as I'm concerned, we're the only one that matters."
RATM also have a bit of history with Limp Bizkit as at the 2000 MTV Video Awards Commerford and his band were passed over for an award in favour of Limp Bizkit. This resulted in Commerford climbing on top of a rig that was over the stage as Limp Bizkit accepted their award.
