Richard Ashcroft Looks On Course For First Solo Number 1 Album In 18 Years!

Richard Ashcroft could be bagging his first UK Number 1 album in a while this week. The former Verve lead singer’s fifth solo studio record ‘Natural Rebel’ has secured roughly 2,000 combined chart sales ahead of the Motion Picture Cast Recording to ‘A Star Is Born’ (2). That release is the closest competition this week.

Richard last landed a Number 1 solo album back in 2000 when he dropped his debut solo offering ‘Alone With Everybody.’ All four of Richard’s previous solo releases have landed in the Top 3.

Meanwhile, Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack is on the verge of ensuring the band’s 24th UK Top 5 record. According to Music News, it’s currently sitting at Number 4 on today’s Official Chart Update.

Rock heroes, Disturbed, also have their eyes on the Top 10 with Evolution at 6. The Overtones’ eponymous record is just behind at 7. Burgeoning, rock legends Greta Van Fleet are also on course in the Top 10 with their debut record ‘Anthem of the Peaceful Army’ at Number 8.
