Robert Plant has been revealed as one of the acts for Meltdown Festival in London. The festival’s curator this year is Elbow lead singer Guy Garvey.
It takes place in the Southbank Centre in London from June 10th-19th. Robert Plant will play on the final day of the festival in aid of the refugee crisis, bringing Meltdown Festival to a close as Refugee Week begins.
Other acts who will perform at the festival include Laura Marling, Nick Mulvey and Nadine Shah, while Femi Kuti, I Am Kloot and Connan Mockasin will see out the festival for its 23rd year.
As curator of the festival, Guy Garvey is also expected to perform tracks from his debut solo effort Courting The Squall alongside special guests. Garvey recently took time off from playing with Elbow to work on his new solo album.
Speaking about being curator for Meltdown Festival Guy Garvey said “I’ve not overthought it. I’ve put together a bill I’d love to see and I’ve made sure there’s something for everyone. All- time greats that have never been far from the cutting edge, to brand new talent worthy of more attention and some reunions I never thought I’d see.”
