Ireland’s biggest festival Electric Picnic is returning to Stradbally next weekend. Here are the acts that Nova thinks you can't miss. A mix of your favourite classics and some fresh artists to check out too.

David Gray

Added to the line-up just two weeks ago, David Gray will play the legends slot on the Main Stage on Sunday night. Best known for the iconic tracks ‘Babylon’ and ‘This Year's Love’, Gray is not one to miss if you're a fan of 90s and early 2000s nostalgia.

If you have somehow missed Gray’s work then ‘Babylon’ and ‘This Year's Love’ are mandatory listening before his set. In fact give all of White Ladder a listen!

Sam Fender

This Geordie rock artist’s breakout single ‘Seventeen Going Under’ shot him into stardom in 2021. The Saturday headliner released his third studio album ‘People Watching’ last year to excellent reviews and cites his biggest inspirations as Bruce Springsteen and Slash.

If you haven't heard any of his music, have a listen to ‘Seventeen Going Under’, the title track ‘People Watching’, ‘Spit of You’ and ‘Hypersonic Missiles’. You can catch Sam Fender on the Main Stage on Saturday evening

Noel and Mike Hogan (The Cranberries)

Perhaps one of the most exciting announcements, Noel and Mike Hogan of The Cranberries are reuniting for the first time since singer Dolores O’Riordan‘s death in 2018. The pair will perform some of the band’s most popular songs alongside the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and a special mystery guest.

It’ll be tough work to recreate the magic that O’Riordan brought to The Cranberries, but the addition of an orchestra could make the set a lovely tribute to the late singer.

Unless you've been living under a rock you already know the Limerick band’s music. If you perhaps want a refresher before the Hogan’s set though relisten to ‘Linger’, ‘Sunday’ and of course ‘Zombie’

Inhaler

Another last minute addition to the line-up, the indie rock band Inhaler is always a great gig. Frontman and son of U2’s Bono Elijah Hewson will return to the festival he last played in 2023.

Fresh off their sold out St Annes Park gig Inhaler is a band, with very clear influences from his father’s own work. If you want to listen to something before their set we recommend ‘My Honest Face’, ‘It Won't Always Be Like This’ and ‘Dublin in Ecstasy’

Kings of Leon

Iconic rock band Kings of Leon will headline on Sunday. The four time Grammy award winners are sure to have a very energetic crowd. ‘Sex on Fire’and ‘Use Somebody’ will be electric.

To take a trip down memory lane before their set, re-listen to Only By The Night’ the band’s break out 2008 album.

The Kooks

2000s indie icons the Kooks are also set to take on Stradbally. The English band formed in 2004 and have released a number of 00s classics such as ‘Naive’ and ‘She Moves in her Own Way’.

To refresh your mind listen to ‘Naïve’ of course and ‘Ooh La’. Their recent album has some good tunes too such as ‘Never Know’.
