Band tackle the Bowie classic at this year’s SXSW.

The group’s performance is taken from their Guitar Centre Sessions show, which will be aired in full on DirectTV on May 17th.This is the second Bowie cover to surface this week, as astronaut Chris Hadfield has become the first man to record a music video in space, when he recorded the song aboard the International Space Station.

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan revealed in March that the band have begun work on a new record. “I’m starting to write new songs for the next Pumpkins album” stated Corgan.”I got alot going on. I have a title for the next album but I won’t tell. It’s going to be a cruel record. Vengeance is mine.”
