Smashing Pumpkins have announced a special reissue of their classic debut album, 'Gish' on vinyl.
The album was initially released in 1991, and recorded by producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig at Smart Studios. Following its release, 'Gish' went on to become one of the most successful independent records of the 1990s.
The album ultimately went Platinum, including hits such as 'Siva', 'I Am One', and 'Rhinoceros'.
There will be different variants to this reissue, while it was also confirmed that frontman Billy Corgan would be selling a colour vinyl housed in the original 1991 packaging via his 'Madame Zu Zu' emporium.
This will be stocked in other independent record stores, with the edition also featuring: “a limited-edition colour-way evoking the classic cover,” and pressed on 180 gram grey vinyl, which can also be purchased in the original 1991 packaging. This can be purchased via this link here.

Back in October, Smashing Punkins' Billy Corgan announced plans to team up with Californian grocery chain, Erewhon to launch a new charity smoothie which mixes high-end health trends with gothic mythology.
This drink, known as The OG Goth, was made available via Erewhon stores, with part of the proceeds going towards the Concussion Legacy Foundation, who are dedicated to supporting athletes and veterans who are living with long term effects of concussions.
“The OG Goth name is in tribute, and particularly to those great and pioneering gothic bands in L.A. who inspired me to be myself and trust in the kind of music I dreamed of making,”...“As well as those that [are] born unique or have [been] overlooked or othered by a culture writ large and somehow together we find common cause and community in our own, self-created netherworld", Corgan said of this initiative.
